Soccer Program in Ashville

We have a fun upcoming event where we are trying some new things next month.  It is a Family Fun Day hosted by G.O.A.L. Foundation and will include fun kids activities (face painting by you know who as well as either glitter tattoos or airbrush tattoos!), free soccer sessions for all ages and skill levels, soccer skill games, drinks, and more!  It is an opportunity to learn about Goal Foundation, their charity work, and the details of their soccer program.  It is not like your typical sign up to play soccer for a season program, but is a skills based learning program that also incorporates life skills like time management and nutrition.

So come join us as we paint at this fun event and help start a new soccer program in Ashville, AL.

July 16th 10 am - 1pm.  Langston Park, 211 8th Street, Ashville, AL  (next to city hall).

Essential Oil Jewelry

Are you looking for some fabulous jewelry that will allow you to take yoi essential oils with you? Look no further than the aroma Coutre collection at Fashion Scents Essential Jewelry.

Each piece is designed with a component to allow the oils to diffuse - either with an open faced pendant that contains eco-friendly bamboo fabric, a lava bead bracelet, or our high quality leather products that offer topical benefits in addition to the aromatic benefits.

But you don't have to use the pendant jewelry for only essential oils.  You can put your favorite perfume on one of the bamboo fabric pads or you can use your pendant as a prayer locket.

So share with your oily and non oily friends and check out their jewelry for men, women, and children.  Kristin has used this company for her diffuser jewelry and is now an independent merchandiser for them.

So, we have started a new project in my little one stoplight town.  It is a combination prayerwalk and scavenger hunt.  Although it is not facepainting, clown or balloon related, it is a project I am involved in, so I wanted to share it.

It started with an article about a scavenger hunt for small stones decorated by a local artist in a large town up north. This idea was adapted for our own local scavenger hunt and prayer walk. Our Rocks of Prayer are decorated by children and adults who then place them in locations for you to find and keep. There is a short little poem listed below to use with your little prayer rock. When the rocks are hidden, a prayer is lifted not only for the person finding the rock, but also for different areas of our small town of Ashville, Alabama.

A photo of each of our hidden rocks is posted on our instagram account (rocks of prayer) and facebook group. Be sure to post when you find it so others don't continue to look for a "found" rock.

Did you find a rock?  We have a Facebook group called Rocks of Prayer and also and instagram page rocksofprayer where newly planted rocks are posted. Find the photo of the rock you found and just comment that you found it.  You can also post a picture of you with the rock if you would like. Know that the artist of your creative little rock has lifted a prayer just for you.  We may not know your needs, but God does!

I’m your little prayer rock and this is what I’ll do.
Just put me on your pillow till the day is through.
Then turn back the covers and climb into your bed
And WHACK … your little prayer rock will hit you on your head.
Then you will remember as the day is through
To kneel and say your prayers as you wanted to,
Then when you are finished just dump me on the floor,
I’ll stay there through the night-time to give you help once more.
When you get up the next morning CLUNK…I stub your toe
So you will remember your prayers before you go.
Put me back upon your pillow when your bed is made,
And your clever little prayer rock will continue in your aid.
Because your heavenly Father cares and loves you so,
He wants you to remember to talk to him… you know.

All Things Clown Conference

It is that time of the year again for clowns from all over to attend the All Things Clown Conference in Fayetteville, GA.  We are super excited at Starshine Faces because our very own Kristin Simpson AKA Dilly Bean will be teaching again this year.  This year she will be adding a Facepainting 101 class and the intermediate class has been changed to a Fast Festival Faces class that is suitable for beginners and intermediate painters.  She is also teaching a Story Expressions class again this year. Story Expressions is our fabulous program that combines the imagination of storytelling with the artistry of facepainting.   This was a popular class last year and we are expecting a crowd again this year.

We love to attend conferences, conventions, and classes!  Even when we are guest instructors, we are still able to attend some of the classes offered by other professionals. It helps us to learn new designs, techniques, tricks, and fun so we can share them with you.  We want to be at our best for your next party or event and by continuing our education in these creative arts we learn how to better serve your needs as a painter, twister, clown, or party organizer.

We can't wait to share what we learn this weekend!
