What is Story Expressions?
Story Expressions is a show that combines the art of facepainting with storytelling for a fun imaginative and creative event that is enjoyed by all ages. For this year, we are following the Summer Reading Program theme for Alabama - One World, Many Stories. The program uses volunteers from the audience to help share the stories we have gathered from all over the world. Many of the stories this year are from areas and people who used very basic tribal face paint designs and those are reflected in our show, so the designs are very different from those you usually find us painting at festivals, fairs, and birthday parties. They are very colorful and bright.

The Story Expressions show typically uses 6-8 volunteers, but this year we have managed to increase that to 13 volunteers who are painted during the show. The volunteers do not get to choose what they are painted as but the design goes along with where we are in the story when they are chosen. Not everyone in the audience is painted during a Story Expressions show and we let the children and adults know that at the very beginning of the storytelling session. Some venues have opted to hire us for additional time to paint as many as we can for an hour after the show.

Story Expressions shows can be customized for your event. We can customize or write a story to go along with your event or birthday theme. We love to do Bible stories.
