Best Place to Watch World Cup Soccer in Alabama - Iron City Grille!

Are you ready to watch some World Cup Soccer?  Iron City Grille (http://ironcitybham.com/worldcup/) will have the World Cup Soccer games live all month long and Starshine Faces will be there at the first USA game on June 16th from 4-6.  Game time is 5:00, but get there early so we can help you get your game face on before team USA takes on Ghana.    You can go to Iron City Grille's website for a schedule of all the games and also check out their facebook page.  If you haven't already liked our facebook page, go ahead and do that, too :)

All Things Clown Conference

It is that time of the year again for clowns from all over to attend the All Things Clown Conference in Fayetteville, GA.  We are super excited at Starshine Faces because our very own Kristin Simpson AKA Dilly Bean will be teaching again this year.  This year she will be adding a Facepainting 101 class and the intermediate class has been changed to a Fast Festival Faces class that is suitable for beginners and intermediate painters.  She is also teaching a Story Expressions class again this year. Story Expressions is our fabulous program that combines the imagination of storytelling with the artistry of facepainting.   This was a popular class last year and we are expecting a crowd again this year.

We love to attend conferences, conventions, and classes!  Even when we are guest instructors, we are still able to attend some of the classes offered by other professionals. It helps us to learn new designs, techniques, tricks, and fun so we can share them with you.  We want to be at our best for your next party or event and by continuing our education in these creative arts we learn how to better serve your needs as a painter, twister, clown, or party organizer.

We can't wait to share what we learn this weekend!

McDonald's Grand Opening in Heflin, Alabama

Tomorrow, November 14th, Starshine Faces artist/owner, Kristin, will be in Heflin, Alabama with free face painting for the grand opening of the new McDonald's right off of Interstate 20 past Oxford, AL.  She will be there from 4:30-6:30.

Festival of Trees and Free Facepainting in Gadsden

The Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts will be having it's Festival of Trees XXIII: Fairy Tale Forest and Let it Snow: the Exhibit Grand Opening Celebration this Saturday November 17, 2012.   The event will start at 10:00 AM and we will be there to help add some fun and color with free holiday face painting until 1:00 pm.  There will be a special dance performance downstairs by the fabulous artists and dance students from the Downtown Dance Conservatory (who we absolutely love and support as much as we can).

As quoted from their website listed below:  "Children of all ages will marvel at the fairy tale themed decorated trees and will delight in a winter wonderland where they can make snow angels, play in the snowball pit, sled down a snow slide and more!"  I am so curious to see and enjoy the "snow."  I bet Crystal the Winter Fairy would love to see it, too!  She is due to fly down from the North Pole in December so make sure to check back for updates about her!

There is a fee of $5 for children, $6 for adults and this includes admission to the Imagination Place. Members of the Hardin Center are free as are children up to 24 months.

This will be great fun!

Dilly Bean the Clown has arrived!

With graduation from The Magic City Clown School in Birmingham, Alabama just around the corner, the new clowns of the fall 2012 class were debuted last night at Liberty Park Baptist Church Fall Festival.  Included in that class is our very own Dilly Bean!!!  Dilly Bean LOVES pickled green beans (also called Dilly Beans) and her name is a play also on her maiden name (Dill).  She is available for parties, promotional events, festivals, fairs, and pretty much anywhere you would want a fun loving clown.  She can twist balloons, paint faces, or just do some walk-around clown magic and all around silliness.  Contact Starshine Faces if you are interested in inviting Dilly Bean to your next event in and around St. Clair County, in the state of Alabama.
